New Year's Eve!

Hello again! Sorry for my disappearance these past few days (or weeks!). Things got really busy after the holidays and I've been playing catch up all week. Finally everything is caught up and I'm prepared for the rest of this week (I'm taking the PLAN test tomorrow, which is a practice test for the ACT next year. Fun!).

On another note, here is what I wore while watching the ball drop on New Year's Eve! My family took a trip to Leavenworth, WA for a long weekend and it was amazing! The entire town was decorated for Christmas and New Year's and everything was lit up with bright lights. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground, which made the mood all the more merrier!

The polish I'm wearing is a glittery polish (probably intended to be worn as a top coat) by Sephora. The color is Spark-tacular and is clear with multi-colored medium and chunky glitter. I applied four coats to get the maximum glitter effect. You can do more or less depending on your preference. I find that with glittery top coats, four coats cover all of the nail so that there are no bald spots in the glitter. Hey, I'm young and it was New Year's! I figured I'd go all out! :)

Funny story about how I painted my nails: I was actually in a Mexican restaurant in Leavenworth when I painted them. I was searching my purse for my camera and I found my new bottle of nail polish that I thrown in on a whim before my trip. Lucky me! After ordering my food, I decided to paint my nails right there in the restaurant! I know, I know. Bad manners, etiquette, whatever you would like to call it. But you have to admit, having nothing sparkly on one's nails for New Year's is almost as bad! The darker photos I took inside the restaurant (excuse the lighting!) and the brighter ones I took outside the hotel in the SNOW on New Year's Day! Right as the ball dropped at midnight, it started to snow. It was quite magical. Haha.

P.s. Since this blog IS also about food, here are two pictures of what I ordered on New Year's Eve:
Pictured above: sweet potato enchilada with refried beans and corn pudding. (My first time trying this and it was soooo good!)
Above: A flan. Pretty self-explanatory. And pretty delicious. It was a huge flan-just the right mixture of eggs and carmel. Perfect!
